![]() Theory-to-Practice Grant Overview THE THEORY-TO-PRACTICE GRANT PROGRAM is funded by the generous support of the President’s Circle, a group of donors who have made special gifts to fund initiatives related to Ohio Wesleyan’s Strategic Plan. Theory-to-Practice Grants will support student, faculty and staff projects that apply theory to practice. There will be two cycles of funding this year: The deadlines for the submission of proposals for the two cycles are October 17, 2011 and March 19, 2012. All proposals must be complete and submitted by 5 p.m. on the date of the deadline. Please see Guidelines and Instructions for Submission for more information. Please also see the Application itself. Questions may be sent to tpgrants@owu.edu. It is expected that at least half of the funding for the year, though not necessarily for each individual cycle, will be awarded to programs that include experiences beyond the borders of the United States. Those proposing projects to begin during the summer of 2012 are encouraged to submit their proposals by the October 17, 2011 deadline. Generally, the most favorable reviews will be given to proposals with a well thought-out plan, a judicious and detailed budget and a well developed assessment plan. The Theory-to-Practice Grant Program is competittive--many more proposals are received than can be funded. Those awarded a Theory-to-Practice Grant must be aware that conditions do apply. These conditions will be communicated to awardees and include the requirement that a report of the results of the Grant-funded project be submitted upon its completion, that an account of all expenditures be made, that the results of the project be shared with University community, etc. Failure to comply with the conditions will result in the revocation of the Grant and will make the recipients ineligible for subsequent University grants. Please read the Guidelines and Instructions for Submission carefully, and be aware that the committee will pay close attention to the proposal’s “fit” with these guidelines. There will be General Information Sessions for students who are considering making a proposal. The first of these will be held on Monday, February 13th at 6:30 PM and Monday, March 5th at 7:30PM in Smith Date Study.
